It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Josie Esther Hernandez (66) of Parlier, California.

In 1972, Josie married her high school sweetheart and shared 49 years of blissful marriage to Cipriano Hernandez. She worked at JCPenney's for 25 years and at Kings Canyon Unified School District for 15 years, retiring as a Food Service Manager at Orange Cove High School. Loving to work, she never missed a day, and always put the kids first; encouraging and nurturing them. Always caring for the needs and well-being of her children and grandchildren, she loved unconditionally.

Josie was also a Pastor's wife at Nueva Vida Pentecostal Church in Parlier for 27 years. She was a prayer warrior, women's leader, great cook (known for her burritos and chili beans), loved cats, and the color red.  She was a blessing to whomever she met, and will always be remembered for her joy and laughter.

She is survived by her husband, Cipriano P. Hernandez of Parlier; Cippy Hernandez Jr. of Selma, Robert Hernandez of Visalia, Joseph Hernandez of Selma, and Richard Hernandez of Reedley; brothers, Joey Rocha of Sanger, Eddie Rocha of Sanger, and Mark Rocha of Merced; sister, Margie Rocha of Sanger; 8 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
