Ayako was born March 20, 1935 in Osaka Japan then later moved to Okinawa. Met her husband Don Wright while he was stationed in Okinawa in the Navy as a Sea Bee. A year after he was discharged, he came back to Okinawa and married Ayako in 1963. He then brought Ayako and her daughter Humiyo to live in Fowler, California where he ran the family business Wright Oil Company. She worked at Boghosian Packing house in Fowler for many years but later retired to help her husband run the family business and help take care of her mother-in-law Irene Wright. She and her husband enjoyed helping many of the people in the community. They both had very big hearts when it came to their friends and community. She was a football coaches' wife, volunteer fireman wife, and a City mayor's wife. She was loved by many of the people that touched her heart. She was also a very busy and caring grandmother to Courtney and DJ Hunter. It was one of her happiest time in her life. After her husband Donny's death in 1998, she become sole owner of Wright Oil Company also known as Fowler Butane Service. Her daughter Humiyo came in to help her run the business.
She had a very full and active life still doing for others when she can. One of her favorite things to do was going to the Casino's. Many people have probably seen her there many times. She also loved watching Stephen Curry and the Warriors. She went into Vintage Garden assisted living center 2021 after having some medical issues but she become very involved and active while there. She loved the games and outings they had there. She especially loved the staff who took very good care of her.
She is preceded in death by Husband Donald Wright and grandson Donald (DJ) Jameson Hunter. Survived by her Daughter Humiyo Wright, Granddaughter Courtney Hawkins, her husband Ben Hawkins, and their 2 sons Donald and William Hawkins, and brother-in-law Jim Wright, half-sister Toruno in Japan.
