Barbara Lee
Bue
Mar 3, 1931 — Feb 8, 2025
Fowler
Barbara Lee Bue was born on March 3, 1931, in Selma, California, and passed away on February 8, 2025, at the age of 93.
Barbara attended Fowler High School where she was a majorette, participated in drama and school plays, held several school offices, and was crowned Fowler Fall Festival Queen in 1948. She married her high school sweetheart, Raymond, in 1950, and then moved to Pacific Grove when her husband was drafted during the Korean War and was stationed at Ford Ord. They returned to the Fowler area and settled on the family ranch, enjoying 70 happy years together.
As a young woman, Barbara was an accomplished pianist and talented seamstress with a natural flair for style and design. A perfectionist by nature, Barbara had a keen eye for detail and a true passion for decorating. In her retirement, Barbara spent much of her time reading, with a special interest in anything relating to medicine. Her family fondly remembers her for her strong will, unwavering determination, exquisite pies and holiday meals, and love for beautiful clothing and jewelry. She also had a deep affection for animals who always had a special place in her heart and home.
Strong work ethic was important to Barbara throughout her adult life. She worked at Bank of America as a bookkeeper and teller, then spent several years working for a local doctor. Later, she earned her certification in medical transcription, which led to a rewarding career as a Certified Medical Records/Transcription Supervisor at Selma District Hospital. Barbara also worked at various hospitals in Fresno, including Saint Agnes Hospital and Valley Children's Hospital. She continued transcribing for various doctors from her home office until she retired in her early 70's.
Barbara and Raymond loved traveling in their motor home, making unforgettable memories on trips with close friends and family. As a devoted grandmother, she always had time to attend her grandchildren's school functions, activities, and sporting events.
Barbara was a member of the Fowler Presbyterian Church and was actively involved in various church activities. Whether lending a hand in the kitchen, singing in the choir, or serving as a deacon, she gave her heart to the church community.
Barbara is survived by her son Dale Bue, her daughter Denise Monis, her husband Richard, and grandchildren Tyler, Connor, and Shelby. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Bue, an infant son Darryl Neal Bue, and granddaughter Cheri Monis.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that any donations be made to Fowler Presbyterian Church, 408 E. Merced Street, Fowler, CA 93625.
