Betty M.
Bosserman
Sep 18, 1928 — Jul 26, 2022
Sanger
Mrs. Betty Bosserman went home to our Lord July 26, 2022. Passing away peacefully in her sleep. She was the heart of her family and a joy to all that knew her.
Betty was born Sept. 18, 1928, to her parents Cecil and Neva Cooper. She was born at her maternal grandparent's home in Sanger and was a lifelong resident of the city. She attended Harding School in Kindergarten where she met her future husband, Bob Bosserman, playing in the sandbox. Not long after kindergarten, her father took a ranch manager position just north of town and her family moved to the ranch home. She then attended Fairview K–8 on McKinley. Before high school, she and her parents moved back to Sanger where she graduated from Sanger High in the class of 1946. Betty and her parents were members of the First Christian Church where she continued her friendship with her future husband. By high school, she and Bob were inseparable. During that time, Betty became a member of The Order of Rainbow for Girls. She held many offices, working her way to Worthy Advisory. She was a member in both the high school band and choir. After graduating high school, Betty continued her education at Heald 4C's school of business.
In 1952 she married her long-time friend and love of her life, Robert (Bob) Bosserman. Their daughter, Leslie was born in 1957. Over the years, Betty worked for Steinert Insurance, Dr. James Giovacchini and Centerville Elementary, as a Bookkeeper and Office Manager.
Betty was always very involved in the Sanger community. She was a member of the Sanger First Christian Church and then later in life, attended Sanger First Baptist/Sierra View Community Church. She was a member of Beta Alpha Sorority working many years to raise money for the Hume Lake Burn Camp for Children. She and her husband Bob were two of the founders of the Sanger Depot Museum where she spent many hours writing minutes as secretary and leading museum tours as a Docent.
Betty spent much of her retirement years caring for her three grandchildren. She was very much a hands-on grandma. She and Bob would pick them up after school, taking them back to their home. Where the spoiling would begin. There were snacks before homework daily. Then as the kids became older, Betty and Bob were in attendance for just about every Volleyball, Basketball, Water Polo game and Swim meet.
Betty loved her family and friends, her pets, music, the ocean, and cooking.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband Robert K. Bosserman and her parents Cecil and Neva Cooper. She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Bosserman Dildine and son-in-law Glen, three grandchildren, Bobbie Lynn Herron and her husband Cole, Loree Dildine, Ryan Dildine and his wife Heather, as well as two great grandsons Wm. Logan and Henry Robert Herron. Betty is also survived by her two cousins Doug Cooper and Jone Severe Taylor, their families and by her Bosserman cousins Alan Buckholtz, Aaron Buckholtz, Laura Gitre, Jennifer Aloy, John Hollett, Robert Hollett and their families.
