Mr. Clifford Allen Strong, a long-time resident of Hanford, California, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the age of 91. Mr. Strong was born on March 4, 1935, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Wilfred and Jennie Strong.

Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Cliff enjoyed tennis, bowling, pool and checkers. In 1950, Cliff was ranked 14th in the United States for boys doubles for his tennis abilities. He won several pool & bowling tournaments. He enjoyed never letting his grandsons beat him at checkers, but his favorite sport was golf, which was given to him by his brother Howard.

Cliff moved to California in 1963 when he took his first teaching job in Hanford, California. He shared his love of math with his students for 32 years at Hanford High School. Cliff said that math is like a puzzle, a challenge to be solved. In Hanford, he met his wife, Sue. They were happily married for 59 years and had two sons.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sue, and two sons, Robert and Russell (Cindy). Two grandsons, Tyler (Jenny) and Tanner (Katie), as well as numerous extended family members. He will be dearly missed.
