Colleen B.
Best
Jan 21, 1951 — Feb 2, 2025
Colleen Bisnette Best, of Clovis California went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 2, 2025. She fought a hard battle until the end. Colleen was born January 21, 1951 in Fresno, CA to David and Jackie Newton. She came out with long arms and legs, as her father nicknamed her Spider. If you knew her well, you knew the story.
Colleen lived an adventurous and fulfilled life. Colleen was one of four children. She had two older sisters and a younger brother. She got into a lot of mischief with baby brother, making her parents scratch their heads. Colleen was the life of the party and a daddy's girl. Growing up she lived in many states; Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, Illinois, Kentucky, and Colorado before finally settling down in California. She went to high school at Westport High in Louisville, KY and another in Naperville, KY. Her father was a great entrepreneur, so where the work took him, the family went. Colleen built her first blueprinting business on the Central Coast when she was in her early 20s. She was a dispatch for PD at one time and also did secretarial work for many years. She was a jack of all trades! But most of all she was a mother to three beautiful girls. Colleen's oldest daughter Tiffany and middle daughter Crystal were both born in Montana. Her youngest daughter Natalie was born in California. Colleen had nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Her grandchildren brought her so much joy! She loved her golf cart adventures with her great-granddaughter.
Colleen met the love of her life, Richard Best 35 years ago. They were married on May 9, 1997 in Carmel, California. It was one of their favorite places to visit! They moved to the small town of Caruthers, CA and started their life together. Richard had two children, Wyatt and Autumn. If you asked Colleen about her kids, she would always name all five. During the summer it was a loud, crazy but fun home with all the kids together. Richard and Colleen had a home in Morro Bay that they loved to visit any chance they could. It was their happy place. As long as they were together and with their animals, life was good!
Colleen was a free spirit. She loved the ocean and the color blue. She loved her family and her animals dearly. She wore her heart on her sleeve, and she befriended everyone. She will truly be missed.
Colleen is survived by her husband Richard Best of Clovis, her daughters Tiffany Bogue Romagnoli of Fresno, Crystal Jordan of Porter Ranch, Natalie Hartwig of Easton and son in laws Brock Jordan and David Hartwig, step son Wyatt Best, step daughter Autumn Best and their spouses Bonnie Eyestone and Scotty Crouthamel. Grandchildren Baylee, Brooke and Brody Romagnoli, Beau and Bridget Jordan, Kylee and Avery Hartwig, Bjorn and Axel Best, great granddaughter Iyla. Sisters Kari Haska and Jennifer Terrio, brother Scott Newton, brother in laws Joe Haska and Cleo Terrio, sister in law Alice Newton and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
