Donald Henry
Hazel
Jul 7, 1935 — Sep 18, 2022
Sanger
Mr. Hazel was born in Lubbock, Texas on July 7, 1935, and passed from this life on Sunday, September 18, 2022, to be with his Lord and his loving wife, Donna. His family stood by his side with admiration of his faith and strength. He met and married his wife Donna in 1955, while enlisted in the United States Air Force. After their marriage, Don and Donna moved to New Mexico where they started their goal for Don to complete law school. After completing the first year of college, they returned to California to attend Fresno State and graduated with a BA in Political Science in 1960. After graduation he attended University of California Los Angeles. Six years later, and with four daughters, they returned to Fresno with a law degree. Donald became a prosecuting attorney for the Fresno District Attorney's Office for five years. After resigning from the District Attorney's office, Don became a partner with Eugene Krum and practiced law in Sanger in which he worked under the law firm of Krum & Hazel Attorneys at Law. The partnership changed to Hazel & Ellison Attorneys at Law, and once Wayne Ellison became Superior Court Judge Don's practice changed to Donald Hazel Attorney at Law. Donald took great pride and respect for his work, friendships made on the way, and bringing happiness to the people who hired him. The family moved to Sanger in 1968. Don enjoyed participating in the Lone Star Elementary School activities and actively participated in the Sanger Seals Swim Team as a stroke and turn judge where all four daughters participated in competitive swimming. The family soon became involved with the State Center Swim Club for AAU swimming, spending most weekends traveling to different areas in California. His other associations involved being a member of the Rotary Club, Attorney for the Tom Flores Foundation, instructor at San Juaquin College of Law, filled in as the Judge for Sanger, and a member of the Sherwood Forest Golf Club. His weekends were usually spent camping, fishing, waterskiing, golfing, and traveling on family vacations. Don loved to spend time with his family, preparing barbeques, holiday dinners, doing yard work, enjoying his backyard, and watching the wildlife, sunrises and sunsets, reading, talking politics and watching CNN!!!! The family wants to express their gratitude to Kaiser Community Hospital Staff for their prompt and caring help.
