Dora Reyes
Hayashi
Dec 16, 1945 — Apr 23, 2026
Dora Reyes Hayashi
Our beloved mother passed away on April 23, 2026. Dora Reyes Hayashi, 80, was born to the late Lorenzo Reyes Sr. and Raquel Rangel in McAllen, Texas, on December 16, 1945. She was a devout Catholic and encouraged her children to follow the Catholic faith. She attended school in Texas and moved to California in the early 1960s.
Dora was blessed with a large and loving family. She married John Hayashi and together raised five children with patience, discipline, humility, and love. She taught them the importance of hard work and perseverance.
Dora was preceded in death by her late husband, Shigekazu John Hayashi. She was a dedicated mother and is survived by her children: her daughters, Lourdes (Lulu) Hayashi Hernandez, Cynthia Hayashi Patlan, and Marleen Hayashi Lara, who preceded her in death; her sons, George Hayashi and Andrew Almeraz. Dora also had grandchildren and great grandchildren, with whom she enjoyed creating memories together. Her siblings: sisters Rebeca Reyes, preceded in death by Juanita Reyes, Diane Reyes Dominguez, Sylvia Reyes Garcia, and Maria Reyes; her brothers Jose Angel Reyes and preceded in death by Marcos Reyes Sr, Lorenzo Reyes Jr., and Antonio Reyes Sr.
Dora loved traveling to Texas to visit her family in Texas. She enjoyed her years of retirement by embarking on several ocean cruises with her late husband. Dora always had time to answer questions and share her wisdom of life experiences. She was the heart of the family.
While we mourn Dora's passing, we take comfort knowing her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. We will be forever grateful for the unconditional love she gave us. Her warmth touched us all. Losing her leaves an ache in our hearts but also inspires us to live up to her beautiful example of family love.
Finally, to our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and good friend, in God's arms, thank you for always loving us. Even though you are no longer here with us, we can still feel your love guiding us. You will always be in our hearts. We will forever love you and miss you.
