Elizabeth Ann Petersen
April 15, 1978 - July 25, 2025
Elizabeth (Liz) Petersen passed away July 25, 2025 in her beloved adopted hometown of San Luis Obispo, CA after a brief illness and hospitalization. She was 47 years old when she went to meet her Lord Jesus and received complete healing. Liz was born April 15, 1978 in Selma, CA to Lance and Barbara Petersen.
She grew up in the small farming community of Easton, CA amongst the vineyards she loved so much. She was a graduate of Washington Union High School. She continued her studies at Cuesta College in SLO. She found great fulfillment helping people with design work for home renovations.
Liz is survived by her parents Lance and Barbara. Older sisters Jennifer Cisneros (Richard) and Ericka Gardner (Bradley). Nephews Elijah and Noah Cisneros and nieces Alexandra, Bethany, and Emmerson Gardner. Aunts, godchildren, many cousins, and innumerable friends will also greatly miss her.
Liz had a beautiful, kind, sparkling spirit. She loved to tell a good story that was never short and had a joyful laugh. Liz had a special gift for helping others, often showing up and offering assistance before the recipient even knew they needed her. She was amazing with people of all ages and always wanted to be a good friend to others even as a very young girl. Liz touched the lives of so many people, most apparently shown by her numerous friends she was in community with in SLO.
Liz's legacy in the imprint she made on the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her. May we all honor her by making an impact on those around us by simply giving others a little bit of time, attention, and care.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that remembrances be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund, or the Alano Club of San Luis Obispo, both of which played a huge part in Liz's life.
