A smile that will be missed forever....

Our beloved mother, Emigdia Gonzalez De Ponce, passed away peacefully Friday, June 04, 2026. She was 86 years old. Emigdia was born on December 18, 1939 in Atotonilco, Jalisco to Roque and Alvina Gonzalez. .

On December 19.1953 Emigdia married Jose G. Ponce. They moved to California, where they  made their life in Firebaugh, CA.  Together they had 7 children, 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. They were married for 66 years.

Emigdia dedicated her life to her family. She was a generous, loving mother, and had enough love in her heart to share with everyone she knew. . She worked as a farm laborer for many years, where she met her long lasting friends. She loved to cook for her family, she loved gardening, loved crocheting, and loved making new born baby blankets. She loved making tamales on Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve was her favorite holiday and she made enough tamales to feed a village. Her family was her world.

Emigdia is survived by her 6 children, George Ponce (Cheryl Ponce) Jose G. Ponce Jr., Daniel Ponce (Blanca Ponce) Erma Ponce Martin (Robert Martin) Manuel Ponce, Margarito V. Ponce (Daniella Ponce) 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.  Two brothers: Ramon Gonzalez, Andres Gonzales, two sisters Jesus Sandoval, Eufrasia Gonzalez

She is preceded in death by her husband Jose G. Ponce Sr., daughter Linda Ponce, parents Roque and Alvina Gonzalez, sister Eva Gallegos.

We will miss her famous our favorite breakfast: Papas con huevos, fresh homemade tortillas con mantequilla, which were made from love
