Obituary

In Loving Memory of Emma G. Christian (Roberts)

Emma G. Christian (Roberts) was born on August 10, 1933, in Belleville, Arkansas, to Benjamin and Dora Roberts. Emma was one of seven children. She had three sisters and three brothers, all of whom preceded her in death.

Emma dedicated her life to her family. She not only raised her own children, but also opened her heart to other children, becoming a surrogate mother to those who needed her love, guidance, and care. She worked tirelessly to provide for those who depended on her, making countless sacrifices to give her children every opportunity in life. Her life was a true testament to the love, strength, and sacrifice she gave so freely to her family and to the many lives she touched along the way.

Emma was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved the Lord with all her heart and found joy in praising Him.

For approximately 80 years, Emma went to school, worked, raised her family with her husband Fred Christian, and made her home in the Riverdale, California community. Her children adored their mother and cherished her loving heart and beautiful spirit.

Emma had a smile that could light up any room. And if you were lucky enough to make her laugh, you were blessed with the genuine, wholehearted laughter that made her so special.

Emma G. Christian (Roberts) was called home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2026, in Riverdale, California.

Emma leaves behind five children: Susie Kennedy; Cordie and Bob Foster; Frances and Samuel II Ayers ; Emma and Hector Brown; and Ben Christian, along with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of Emma.

Emma was not only a mother, but also a friend, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She gave love freely and touched the lives of so many people around her.

Her presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but the love she gave us, the memories she created, and the beautiful spirit she carried will remain in our hearts forever.

Please join family and friends as we gather to lay Emma's body to rest.
