Chief Pettie Officer Felix Esqueda of Sanger Ca. was born on January 13, 1942 in Fresno Ca. Felix left the physical world to be with the Lord on February 22, 2024 he was 82 years old. His wife was at his side. He served in the Navy for 22 years and received the following awards during his service. These include; National Defense service medal, Vietnam Service medal w/star, Armed Forces Expeditionary medal, Navy unit commendation, Navy Good conduct medal, and Gold Wreath award and Sea Service award. He served on several ships in the Navy including the USS Coral Sea CV-43/Carrier Air Wing, USS CHANTICLEER (ASR-7) and USS WHITE SANDS (ARD-20). Last duty station was Navy Recruiter in Visalia Ca. Soon after his retirement from the Navy he began working as a teacher for Sanger High School NJROTC. When this tenure ended at Sanger High School, he then went to work at Dinuba High School NJROTC. He really did enjoy this post Navy career working with high school kids and continued in this job for 15 years. Felix and Nellie were also foster parents for 12 years. Felix received an associate degree from Fresno City College.
Felix Esqueda is survived by his wife of 58 years Nellie Esqueda who cared for him at his home during the last three years. She was at his side as he transitioned peacefully from this physical world. His Children daughter Christina Esqueda Gomez her husband Rickardo Gomez, daughter Felicia Esqueda-Rodriguez her husband Albert J Rodriguez and his son Chris M. Esqueda. He is survived by 3 Grandchildren AJ Rodriguez, Brittney Rodriguez and Nathaniel Rodriguez. He is also survived by his godson David Ramos who resided at his home.
He is also survived by his Siblings brother Ignacio Esqueda, sister Florence Martinez and sister Margret Bermudez. He is survived by many Nieces Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Florence and Christ Esqueda, Brother Chris Esqueda and Sister Jenny Hernandez.
Our family would like to thank St Agnes Hospice Nurses, Chaplin and Social Workers who assisted us in caring for Felix at home.
