Glenda Fern Batty/Park passed away peacefully at her home on May 24, 2022. She lived 90 beautiful years. Glenda was loved fiercely by her boys and grandchildren and was admired by those who knew her.
Glenda was born in April of 1932 to Seth and Catherine Batty and raised in Cedar Rapids Nebraska. She was an only child. Glenda came to Sanger in the early 40's with her parents where she attended and graduated from Sanger schools.
In October 1952 Glenda married Arthur Park Jr. and together started their family of 3 boys Larry, Michael, and David. In 1960 Art and Glenda bought a house on the corner of 14th and Greenwood where Glenda lived until her passing. In July of 1962 Art and Glenda opened and operated Art Park's Tune Up & Brake Clinic later to become Park's Auto Parts and Service operated with their sons until 2003. Glenda was always right there to help in any capacity she could.
Over the years Glenda has supported Sanger in many ways. She supported her boys during their Sanger School years. She was a Cub Scout den mother, attended sporting events, and was one of those neighborhood Moms that all the surrounding kids knew.
Art and Glenda owned a Model A and were active members of several car clubs. Their Model A made many appearances in the Sanger Christmas parade.
In her later years Glenda spent her time working in her flower beds and around her house. She loved all of her grand babies and great grand babies. Family always came first.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Art. Her survivors include her oldest son Larry and wife Alicia, middle son Michael and youngest son David.
She dearly loved her grandchildren, Jason James (Brie), Jennifer Lynn (Travis), Kaylatti Park, Christopher Park (Lizbeth) and Megan Lee (Matt). Glenda enjoyed watching the family grow and spending time with her great grandchildren Lexis, Keira, Dominic, Remy, Alex, Wesley, Samantha and Sebastian. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews John Park Jr, Janet Corso and Laura Bailey.
