Mrs. Ina Louise "Louie" East went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 23, 2022 at 84 years old. She was born in Fresno, CA on October 28, 1938 to Walt and Gladys Edlund. She has a younger brother, Everett Edlund of Caruthers, CA.  She met her high school sweetheart at Caruthers High School and was married on May 6, 1961 to Everett "Bill" East.

Her career started at Caruthers First National Bank as a teller and then to Caruthers High School as the librarian.  She then worked at Raisin City co-op Cotton Gin and Caruthers Cotton Gin as gin manager.  In the late 1970's, she went to work at Growers and Merchants State Bank where she served her community as a teller and branch manager.  She finished her career at Campos Brothers Almond Hulling retiring in 2001.  Louie and Bill were blessed with two sons, Garvin Lane East and Kevin Lynn East.  They farmed their home place and raised animals until both boys were out of high school.

She served the Lord with her gift of music, playing at church, weddings and funeral services.  She enjoyed her family and the community she lived in.  She lived her whole life in Caruthers and looked forward to the Caruthers District Fair each year, where she enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Kim Johnson and Shelley Hawkins joined the family in 1985, completing the family until the grandkids arrived.  They were blessed with 4 grandchildren:  Jenna East Emmett, husband, Brandon of Caruthers, CA; Stephanie East Voyles, husband, Matt of Caruthers, CA; Cody East of Baton Rouge, LA and Claire East of Dallas, TX and 7 great-grandchildren:  Bristol, Blakely, Reagan, Ayden, Brody, Boston and Olivia.

Louie was preceded in death by husband, Bill and her parents.  She was loved by all who knew her and will truly be missed.  She has received the ultimate reward hearing the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
