Mr. Jake Laurencius Van Ruiten, a long time resident of Sanger, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, August 9, 2025 in Fresno County at the age of 90. Jake was born September 22, 1934 in Holland to Jacob and Jacoba Van Ruiten. Jake came to America in 1947. In 1961 he married Barbra Louise Warmerdam. For a short time they lived in Southern California then settled and made their home in Sanger on the River Bottom Ranch. He was a long time member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church. He was a dairyman and rancher. He enjoyed outdoor activities and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his son, Danny (Kelly), his daughters Tamara and Nanci, 3 grandsons, 2 step grandsons, 3 granddaughters, and 1 great grand-daughter (one on the way), 1 sister, 1 brother, and a beloved sister-in-law. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Van Ruiten, brothers John Van Ruiten (Ann), and Hank Van Ruiten (Mary), sisters, Sophia Loogman (Pete), Ann Loogman (George), Johanna Mulligan (Art) and (Arie Spruit).

A rosary and funeral mass will be held, Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church on Bethel and North in Sanger, California. The rosary will be held from 9:30 until 10:00 AM. Mass will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM followed by interment at Sanger Cemetery.
