Obituary

Our beloved mother, Jane passed away after a prolonged battle with health issues on January 11, 2025. Jane was born on March 27, 1946 in Weslaco, TX to Juan y Maria. Her family relocated to the Fresno County area of California in the early 1950's. Her parents were farmworkers who worked hard to provide for their family. They overcame many hardships and obstacles, but always prevailed and eventually settled in Sanger, CA where they purchased a home.

Jane eventually married and started her own family beginning in 1968. Over the years, she had 3 children who she raised on her own. Her life was filled with many struggles, but she like her parents, was a fighter and overcame all obstacles put against her. It was not easy, but she always made sure her children had a roof over their heads, clothes on their backs, and food to eat. Her life was for her kids, and she always said her children are what kept her going. She would give up anything and everything for them. To define her in one word, she would be Mom as well as Dad to all 3 of her children.

She spent 25 years as a packer at Barr Packing in Sanger and was hired at Sun Maid in Kingsburg, CA in 1990 where she was employed until her retirement in 2014. She was a diligent worker and took pride in the work she did. She worked hard her whole life whether it was helping her parents as a young girl or raising her own family. She was independent and proud of the fact that she made things happen for herself on her own by herself and on her own terms.

She had a big personality, and she made sure it showed. She fought a hard fight in her journey through life, and she was not going to let anything, or anyone tell her how to live it. When she walked in a room, everyone knew it. She always made sure her kids and grandkids were taken care of, and she made sure she recognized all their birthdays in her own special way every year.

She is survived by her 3 children Carol (Jose), Cathy, and Phil (Valerie), her sister Frances and brother Gustavo. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and one on the way as well as her nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Juan y Maria, her brothers Oscar, John and Jesse, her sister Mary, and her grandson Jose Jr.

Mom, we love you and although you are not here with us in the physical sense anymore, we know you will always be with us in spirit watching over all of us and guiding us along the rest of our journey through our lives.

She is going to be missed, but her family is comforted in the fact that she is no longer in pain and with her Lord where she is safe and happy.
