Obituary

Janice Gail Conard

April 23, 1938 – February 10, 2023

Mrs. Janice Gail Coolidge Conard was born on April 23, 1938 to Everett Coolidge and Nellie Hopkins Coolidge in Fowler, California.  She was the oldest of three other siblings; Douglas Coolidge, Stanley Coolidge and Brent Coolidge.

Jan attended Fowler schools and graduated from Fowler High School in 1956.  She worked for Dr. Vincent Leonardo in Fowler for 20+ years as the receptionist/office manager.  On March 27, 1959 she met the love of her life, Larry Conard, and they married on November 12, 1960.  In 1961 they welcomed their daughter Carrie Kwin Conard into their lives.  Their marriage has been one centered around God and they have been married 62+ years when she went home to Heaven.  Through the years Jan has served her family, friends and community in many ways.  Her giving and loving heart is a testimony to the grace, mercy and forgiveness she received from her Savior Jesus Christ.

Jan served as the President of the Bethel Home Guild in Selma for several years.  She was an amazing cook catering various events for friends and family.  She served at the Presbyterian Church in Fowler cooking in the kitchen, teaching Sunday school, decorating the sanctuary and playing piano and occasionally the organ.  In her later years she attended Northwest Church where she was a blessing to many with her love, concern, always praying for others.  Jan also had a gift of creativity.  She made many wonderful things and taught ceramic classes out of her home.  She loved flower arranging, sewing and baking.  Our home was always filled with the sound of music.  She taught piano and was a wonderful pianist.  Jan was also a sports fan and enjoyed watching her Rams and Oakland A's win or lose.

Jan is remembered most of all for her unconditional servant heart for her friends and family.  She helped all of us in many ways.  Caregiver, encourager, prayer warrior and servant to those in need.  She is Auntie Jan to many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who she adored!

Jan is survived by her husband Larry Conard, daughter Carrie Esparza, son-in-law Daniel Esparza and many nieces, nephews, cousins and family.  She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and several dear family members.

In lieu of flowers the family would be grateful if you would donate to the Fresno Mission or your favorite charity.

We will be celebrating her life Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11:00am at The Fowler Cemetery.
