John Henry Wake Sr. was born January 24, 1939, in Sanger, California to Milo Wake and Edna Haynes Wake. He went to be with Lord on January 10, 2025, at the age of 85. He spent most of his working life doing farm related duties. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved frying up his catch and sharing it with friends and family.  His fish fry recipe and techniques were amazing.

John is survived by Jessie Wake, his loving wife of 47 plus years, one son John Wake Jr and his wife Lynn, two daughters Denise Means and her husband Gary, and Audrey Bartlett and her husband Mark. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Shane and Jacob Wake, Heather MacChesney, and Samuel Bartlett as well as 6 great grandchildren Gavin and Lauren MacChesney, and Daphne, Harvey, Jameson and Logan Wake. He was a very proud Papa.

John is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Vinnie Berry and three brothers Lonnie, Dean, and Don Wake. He was also preceded in death by two children Viola Wake and James Mills and two grandsons Billy Means and Joshua Wake.
