Jolynn Carol was born on November 6 th 1966 in Fresno, California to Joe and Iva Arthur.  She was the last of five children and relished the fact that she was, indeed, the baby.

Jolynn graduated from Caruthers High School in 1984 and soon after married the love of her life, John Sutherland, the man who stood by her side in sickness and in health until the moment she took her final breath.

Although Jolynn was diagnosed with a debilitating disease at the age of 14, she was never one to complain or let her illness get the better of her . She obtained her manicurist license from Lyle's College of Beauty, enjoyed providing childcare in her home and later become a teacher's aide at Gardenside elementary . When these jobs became too physically demanding, she took a position at Sunrise Medical helping to connect others with a disability with the supplies they needed . She remained there until something extraordinary happened - against all odds, she miraculously gave birth to a beautiful baby girl ! Being a mother was the role she was born for . Her family was her world.

Jolynn loved caring for others whether it was by feeding them (her chicken and dumplings and desserts will never be matched) or just lending an ear . Her smile, determination and wit endeared her to all that crossed her path . The world will be darker without her light.

She did have a hope for a better future though . Being baptized as a Jehovah's witness as a teenager, she took comfort in the promise of a new world where she will be reunited with her parents and siblings that passed before her and where she will finally be able to cast her crutches aside and run to their open arms!

Jolynn is survived by her husband John and his family, their daughter Jacey, sister Claudia and brother-in-law Stephen Hilderbrand as well as many nieces, nephew s, cous ins and dear friends.
