Mrs. Joyce VanHoosen passed away peacefully on November 28, 2022
Joyce was first married to Ted Rutledge and is survived by their 2 daughters Lindy Longfellow (George) and Tracy Summers(Chet). Joyce is also survived by step-daughter Kristi VanHoosen(Randy), granddaughters Michelle Hazelwood(Aaron) and Melissa Jensen(Ryan), grandchildren Coy, Quincy, Ace and Tyce Hazelwood, Colt and Bailey Jensen, Niece Sharon Biswell(George) and nephew Rick Saffell.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Gary VanHoosen, her parents Ernest & Francis Saffell, her brother Ray Saffell, niece Valerie Pranger and great nephew Darryl Saffell.
Joyce lived her entire life in Sanger. She loved her horses, She later married Gary VanHoosen, a very successful horse trainer. She loved this life, she would hurry home from work, change into her jeans and help with the lessons. Joyce loved "dressing" the girls for the horse shows. She also enjoyed helping their Rodeo Queen contestants prepare for the competitions.
Joyce was a very successful realtor for more than 40 years with most of her career spent with Guarantee Financial Real Estate at Fig Garden. She loved traveling with the "Fig Garden Gals" who were her close co-workers. They traveled to many places including, China (rode a camel there) and Thailand (where she rode an elephant). She also loved their many trips to Cayucos and Morro Bay.
Joyce also enjoyed the Fresno Fair horse races with her own box seats, she loved going to the races!!
Hair, nails and dressed to the hilt…that was Joyce!!
She will be missed dearly by her family and all that knew and loved her….
