Juan Lino
Acosta
May 1, 1956 — Nov 9, 2024
Sanger
It is with great sadness and love that we announce the passing of Juan Lino Acosta, "Big John," who was called back home on November 9, 2024, at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Juan was born on May 1, 1956, in Pharr, Texas. He moved to California in 1958, where he played baseball and graduated from Sanger High School in 1974. He later retired from Cove, where he worked as a supervisor. Juan enjoyed testing his luck, whether at the casino or by playing lottery tickets. One of his greatest passions was playing competitive pool, winning numerous trophies along the way.
Juan is survived by his three siblings: his sisters Maria and Francisca, and his brother Javier. He was a loving family man who cherished spending time with his three nieces—Selina, Jessica, and Cassandra—and his two nephews, Nicolas and Javier. He also went above and beyond for his great-nephew and great-niece, Ezekiel and Khaleesi. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maria and Lino Acosta.
Juan had a one-of-a-kind personality that could make everyone laugh. We love and miss you, brother and tío.
