Obituary

Kiyoshi "Crow" Komoto
June 12, 1931 - March 7, 2026
Kiyoshi was born in Fresno, California, to Yoshikazu and Hisano Komoto, who raised him along with his five brothers in Parlier. During World War II, his family was sent to an internment camp at Gila River, Arizona, while his oldest brother served in the United States Army. Kiyoshi later proudly served in the U.S. Army as well.

Following his military service, he returned to Parlier and purchased the family home and farm for himself and his parents. He planted citrus and olive trees, providing the family with fresh oranges, lemons, and tangerines. His jars of homemade cured olives were always eagerly anticipated by relatives.

He worked for many years at Barr Packing in Sanger, where he took pride in his work and formed many lasting friendships. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed fishing and taking long drives, appreciating the quiet and simplicity of those moments.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews and their children: Jeff and Diane Komoto, Tina Chan, Judy and Carl Helm, Scott Komoto, Colleen Komoto, Vicki Wynne, Steve Wynne and Melanie and Thom Sembritzki.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Veterans Administration for the many years of care and support provided to him and his caregiver, Joanna Montez, and her family.
