Mr. Lavaughn A. McIntyre of Caruthers passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the age of 97.  Mr. McIntyre was born January 7, 1925 in Hazel, Oklahoma to Wallace and Faye McIntyre.  Mr. McIntyre was a local famer in Caruthers for many years before retiring in 1998.  He previously worked as a gin operator for Producers Cotton Oil Gin  just outside of Huron for 25 years before going into farming.  He was a proud Navy and WWII Veteran.  He enjoyed boating, camping, traveling back to his hometown in Oklahoma and spending time with family and friends especially his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.  He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by a son David McIntyre and wife Sandra of Caruthers; a daughter, Joy McIntyre of Caruthers; a sister, Donna Walkup of Meza, Arizona; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Audene McIntyre in 2019, a daughter, Susan McIntyre in 1991, a brother, Walt McIntyre, 3 sisters, Lorene Taft, Ruby Harlow and Doris Teran.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday September 16, 2022, 10:00AM at the Fowler District Cemetery in Fowler, California under the direction of Wallin's Fowler Funeral Home.
