Lillian Blanche Masaoka was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi, to William and Daisy Matthews.  Departed from this life is Sanger, Ca., Sunday, November 26, 2023.  At the age of 6, the Matthews family moved to California and settled in the Kerman area.

Lillian graduated from Kerman High School in 1960.  One hobby she liked was racing go-karts.  She competed in many races in Kerman and out of town, winning first place trophies sometimes.  She began working in the food industry, first as a waitress for over 18 years at the former Kerman Chop Suey.  From there, she owned three restaurants, where she worked full-time before retiring due to health problems.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, William and Daisy Matthews, a brother, William Matthews Jr., former husband, Orville Larabee, brother-in-law, Robert Reagan, and a great-nephew, Jarred Teal.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Steve Masaoka of Sanger, two daughters, Sandra Larabee and Darla Peden of Sanger, a grandson, Ryan Peden of New York, and Jordyn Van Hoorebeke of Sanger, whom she loved very much.  Two sisters, Catherine Reagan and Aline Teel and husband Rev. Ray Teel of Kerman, sister-in-law, Mildred Matthews of Arkansas, son-in-law Geoff Peden of Fresno, along with several nieces and nephews.  In addition, her "extended family", Neil and Dary Tung, children Jayden and Hayden, and their grandparents.  She also leaves behind her two beloved furry companions, Lucky and Tessa.

A special thank you to Dr. Henning Rasmussen, his wife Mindy, and his wonderful staff that took such special care of Lillian.

"When you feel sad and alone, remember I will be there with you!"
