Biography of Lorraine Mirigian
Lorraine was born on February 5, 1941 to Jacob and Amelia Surabian. She is the oldest of Two children. Lorraine was baptized in St. Gregory Church Fowler.
As a child Lorraine attended church services at St. John in San Francisco and during the summer months both she and Richard were brought down to Fowler to help on the ranches. Lorraine attended school in San Francisco and graduated from Balboa High School. She then went to San Francisco State to complete her bachelor degree in teaching.
While both Bob and Lorraine were attending college, Lorraine met her future husband Bob Mirigian on a Sunday at St. John. Lorraine and Bob were Married at St. Gregory church in Fowler on September 3, 1961. After their marriage Bob and Lorraine at first made their home in an apartment in San Francisco and three years later, they bought their home in Millbrae
After college, Lorraine began working at Gibraltar saving as a bank teller and later worked her way up to branch manager. Once Lorraine stopped working, She and Bob took a trip to Italy for one year and when they returned both were fluent in Italian.
After her marriage, Lorraine became an active in the Armenian community and serving her church. Lorraine served her church from the beginning. Lorraine has held virtually every office in the Ladies Society. Served as a delegate to the Diocesan Council. Lorraine has held every position on the Parish Council except for Treasurer
Lorraine enjoyed cooking with friends in the lady's society for the annual food bazaar and the many, many banquets. Their claim to fame was that for one festival they prepared over 5,000 kuftas. Lorraine's life has been her church which she served with devotion.
