It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lupie Madrid at age 80, of Sanger, CA., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 18, 2025.

Lupie was born on January 5, 1945, in Weslaco, Texas, and was one of eight children of Matilde and Maria Alvarez. She enjoyed being part of a large family and loved children.

Family will always be her legacy and she kept in contact with her children and siblings on a daily or weekly basis.

She always welcomed those who came to visit and loved to feed people.  She provided many meals especially her Christmas tamales and enchiladas to her local public safety departments.

Lupie is proceeded in death by her husband Pedro J. Madrid, survived by her five children:  Linda Branch (Scott), Rolinda Hernandez, Hank Madrid (Jamie), Emily Duran (Manuel) and Nancy Robles.

Grandmother of: Arlene Ortega (Miguel), Steven Robles (Jannel), Aaron Robles, Samantha Duran, EmmaLee Chen (Brandon) and Kensey Branch.  Great grandmother to: Ezekiel Ortega, Lorenzo Ortega, Hayden Chen and arriving soon: Elliana Sol Robles.

A Rosary will be held on December 2, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Wallin Funeral Home and a Catholic Mass on Wednesday, December 3rd at St. Mary's Catholic Church followed by burial at the Sanger Cemetery.
