Margie was born in Fowler, California on April 1, 1934. Margie passed on August 19, 2024. She attended Lone Star Elementary School and then graduated from Fowler High School in 1952. Margie continued her education at Fresno City College for two years. Margie then started working for The Fresno Sheriff Department. Margie worked for the Sheriff Department for forty-two years.
Margie always considered herself a country girl. In her younger years she would sleep with the animals and made sure they were cared for. Margie had a great love for animals her whole life. There was always a dog or cat wherever she lived.
In 1957 Margie met Tommy and fell in love. They were married on December 12, 1959. They had been married for almost sixty-five years. When they first got married, they lived in Calwa. They later built a home next door to Margie's parents.
Margie was continually active at Saint Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church in Fowler. Margie was an excellent cook and was a member of The Lady Society at the church. She enjoyed preparing food with all the ladies at church.
Margie volunteered at Valley Children's Hospital rocking the newborn babies. She also volunteered at the Fowler Public Library. Margie and Tommy took some nice trips. One of their favorite things to do was camping. Aunt Margie would plan great meals that were enjoyed by all on the camping trip.
Margie is survived by her husband Leonard Haggerty; her niece Susan Toste and husband Paul; her great nephew Paul Toste and his wife Stephanie; her great niece Theresa Toste; and a great great niece and five great great nephews.
Margie was a special person. Words cannot express how much she will be missed. She will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
