Mrs. Maria Alicia Alvarez; Born Maria Alicia Garcia Vazquez passed away peacefully on Dec 14 , 2025 , at the age of 91 in the city of Sanger California.  She was born in the municipality of General Terán  Nuevo León , México on October 20, 1934 to Jose Guadalupe Garcia Olivo and Guadalupe Vazquez.

She married Francisco Alvarez Garcia  who preceded her since March 2019.  Together they raised 8 children all of which survive them , Leticia , Eliazar , Erasmo , Eduardo, Hector Lorena, Eliodoro and Ludivina .

Beside being a full time mother Alicia contributed to the family economy by being a co-owner with her husband  of a grocery store store which was largely run by her and her older children . When the whole family legally immigrated to the United States it transitioned to a life of farm work.

Life in the states brought the couple 27 grandchildren and 21 great grand children.  She gave her life to her family . She loved unconditionally.

No one would deny her gift as a cook.  Even migas, no one made them like her.  Even with her Parkinson's, she would cling to the phone to call all her children.  Her favorite song was un día a  la vez ( one day at a time) .She  loved to sing it with Her husband. Her life principle was peace making.

Blessed are the peacemakers , said Jesus . Alicia is blessed , she was a peacemaker.

She will be greatly missed. We will miss her sincere and loving kisses.

Her service is being held at the Spanish Seventh Day Adventist church in Sanger, California.  December 30 , 2025 10 am
