On August 25, 2026, at 77 years of age, Mary "Pinky" Tamez joined her parents, Bernabe and Ramona Rodriguez, and two brothers, Felix and Roger Rodriguez, in the heavenly world above.

The first of eight children, Pinky is survived by 5 siblings, Elizabeth (Isabel) Rodriguez, Henry (Rick) Rodriguez, George Rodriguez, Estela Aguirre, and Benjamin Rodriguez. Her two daughters, Gina Gonzalez and Virginia Tamez, 6 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

As a farm laborer, child care provider, and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Sorrows, Pinky lived life the only way she knew how to: by providing for others. You could always find her socializing outside her home with friends and neighbors over a cup of coffee. Her home was often filled with warmth and savory or sweet scents, depending on her mood. She never let you leave hungry and always made sure to wrap something up for you to take on your travels. Pinky loved to laugh as she watched her Westerns, Cooking, and Hallmark channels and every football season you'd find her bundled up in the stands or feet up watching the NFL.

In her younger years, she never had the heart to travel. In her later years, her health took a toll on her, and she couldn't travel, yet she lived vicariously through others. Additionally, all she could ever want was in her hometown of Parlier, CA. She had her friends and her family, that's all she ever needed. "
