Melquiades Mata Medrano is known to his family as Apa /Little Grandpa. He was born December 15, 1933 in San Luis Potosi Mexico, and he migrated to Donna Texas where he grew up and then moved to Sanger, CA. He peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on October 1 ,2023 to join his wife Matiana V. Medrano.  He is survived by his oldest daughter Nellie Medrano, son Jose Luis Medrano, and daughter in law Stephanie Medrano with his 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Melquiades was employed at the Sanger cannery for many years. He was known, loved, and cherished by many. Melquiades was always the life of the party. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him, and like he would always say "vasos arriba, abajo, al centro, pa dentro".

Mass October 12, 2023, 10 am St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2590 E. North Ave., Sanger, Ca followed by burial at Sanger Cemetery, 568 S. Rainbow Route, Sanger, Ca. 93657.
