Norma Betancourt Cortez

February 14, 1961 – January 21, 2026

Norma Betancourt Cortez, age 64, passed away on January 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on Valentine's Day in 1961, Norma's life was a testament to the love and warmth associated with her birthday.

A lifelong resident of Parlier, Norma was a devoted daughter, a protective sister, a loving wife and mother, and the heart of her home. She was a woman of profound faith and kindness, finding her greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments spent with those she loved.

Norma is survived by her devoted husband of many years, Stephen Mark Cortez; her three sons, Stephen Cortez Jr. and his wife Roxanne, Gregory Cortez, and Nicholas Cortez; six cherished grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Oscar Betancourt Jr., Raymond Betancourt, and Anita Betancourt Robles, along with a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar L. Betancourt Sr. and Elida Betancourt; her sister, Gloria Betancourt; and her father-in-law, Peter Cortez, in addition to other members of the Betancourt and Cortez families.

Norma's legacy of faith and her unwavering love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Norma will be deeply missed and we will carry her love with us always.
