Obituary

Rachael S. Belmonte, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2024 at the youthful age of 81. She was born in Fresno, CA on December 5, 1942 to Sylvester and Petra where she devoted her life to her family and friends,

Rachael grew up in Sunset where she loved to ride bikes and attend concerts, specifically Fats Domino as she was president of his fan club. She graduated from Edison High School and worked a variety of jobs but most notably as a rocket part manufacturer until working at the IRS for almost 30 years where she retired. She and her husband Edward were high school sweethearts that spent the early years of their relationship dancing at the Rainbow Ballroom, watching movies at the drive-in, and taking road trips to the mountains.

Mother to Diana, Dorene, David, and Antonia she loved spending time with her kids by taking them shopping and to photoshoots where she absolutely adored how beautiful her children were while never liking how she looked in them herself. As a family they loved taking yearly vacations to Disneyland and Dinkey Creek. Her most important role in life was as a devoted grandmother that loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was their greatest supporter at all their events such as sports, concerts, and performances while being their favorite sitter.

Her most favorite times and memories were spent with those she loved, and she made sure to spend as much time with them as possible.

Rachael was preceded in death by her parents Sylvester and Petra, brother Max, and daughter Diana. She is survived by her sister Martha, brothers Reynando and George, husband Edward, daughters Dorene and Antonia, son David, sons-in-law Rick and Steve, grandchildren Vanessa, Teresa, Brandon, Brittney, and Brianna, great grandchildren Alejandro, Zander, Benjamin, and Dani and her best friend Lorraine.

Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
