Robert Rodriguez Diaz, aged 72, passed away on November 7th, 2023, while at home surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born on January 12, 1951, in Weslaco, Texas Robert was one of eight children of Raul and San Juana Diaz. Raised in Parler, California, Robert went on to earn his Master's in Social Work with a minor in Spanish from California State University Fresno. In college many knew him as Doc, and was active in the Chicano movement, marching with Cesar Chavez. Later he moved to the "Campo" with his wife to start his own family before settling in Easton.

Robert was a devoted family man, married to Socorro Diaz with whom he had two children. He was a man of few words, yet his iconic handlebar mustache and derby hats made him recognizable. Robert enjoyed fishing, gardening, old cars, and spending time with his dogs. His presence commanded respect and admiration from those around him.

Robert leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his children Victoriano Diaz with his partner Jason Chyba; Salina Diaz-Aguirre and her husband Cain Aguirre; and four grandchildren: Aliyah Aguirre, Maximino Jose Diaz-Aguirre, Esperanza San Juana Diaz-Aguirre, Joaquin Robert Diaz-Aguirre.

His funeral service will be held at Wallin's Parlier Funeral Home, 7942 S. Mendocino Ave, Parler, CA 93648, on November 16th, at 10 am, and laid to rest at Washington Colony Cemetery
