Robert Allen Mills

October 17, 1946 – June 11, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Mills, who passed away on June 11, 2026, at the age of 79.

Robert was born on October 17, 1946, to Marvin and Vernie Mills.  He was the youngest of five children.  He grew up in Sanger and graduated from Sanger High School.

Robert began a career as a carpenter.  He eventually transitioned to a machinist at American Beauty Macaroni in Fresno.   There, he dedicated 30 years of hard work, mechanical mastery, and steadfast friendship before his well-earned retirement."

He had a passion for woodworking. He was a fine craftsman, building cabinetry, decks, and screened rooms for the various homes in which he resided.  Often taking in discarded wood pieces from others to reinvent them into something beautiful and useful.  He also enjoyed fishing and created many great memories with his children and grandchildren during fishing trips together.

Robert was a family man.  After raising five children, he later opened his home to help raise grandchildren.  Together with his wife, they hosted many birthday parties, Christmas gatherings and fun get togethers for their five children, fourteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, his parents, Marvin and Vernie Mills, his brother James, his sisters Ruth Leatherwood and Judy Weaver and his son Ricky Mills

He is survived by his children Robert L Mills, Rohnda Hempstead, Russell Kainrath and Joan Dunham, his brother Raymond Mills, fourteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Campus Bible Church, Palm Campus.  Followed by a graveside service on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sanger Cemetery.
