In Loving Memory of Robert Roger Rios, Jr.
March 31, 1980 – March 28, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Roger Rios, Jr, lovingly known as Bobby, who left us far too soon. Born on March 31, 1980 in Fresno, California, Bobby was a proud, longtime resident of Fowler, CA, where he loved to be involved with his neighborhood community, from knowing the local corner store worker by name to devoting his time to charity work at his home parish, where he helped with maintenance and volunteered time to paint the church. His profession was in flooring for over 20 years, a craft he took great pride in, and he could point out the craftsmanship in the flooring that you would never notice.
Bobby will be remembered for his radiant smile that could light up a room, his deep voice that was unmatched, and his bear hugs that would engulf you. He had a huge passion for sports, and was never without his favorite team colors, whether it was for the New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Lakers, or Los Tigres. He found peace and joy in the outdoors. He loved deep sea fishing, where he would be one of the first to reach his fishing limit, and start handing out fish to others so they could reach their limit.
His other passion was camping with family, where he was one of the first ones up and the last one to go to bed. He loved listening to Mexican music stations, 107.1 and 95.1, whether on his phone or his work radio. Family meant everything to Bobby and he loved spending time with them. If he wasn't able to see them in person, he would make sure to call them every day to check on them and see how their day was. In a 24-hour day, he always got the most of it, and always managed to call everyone even after a long hot day of work. Bobby's heart and love for others were unmatched.
Bobby Rios leaves behind a legacy of love, selflessness, and unshakable connection. Whether through his daily check-ins with family, his helping hands at church, or the way he brightened rooms with his unmistakable smile and deep laughter, Bobby lived to connect with others. His work in flooring reflected his attention to detail, but it was his care for people that truly stood out. A man who gave freely of his time, heart, and energy, Bobby showed us all what it means to live fully—with purpose, with passion, and with love that never ran out.
Bobby is survived by his sons, Joseph (and wife Ace), Robert, Jacob, his daughter Ariana (and husband Caleb); and his beloved granddaughter Azaria. Bobby also leaves behind his mother, Maria; father Roger; sisters Valerie and Marisela; and his brother Tony. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, primas and primos, tíos and tias. Bobby was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all. His love and memory will live on in those who he loved and spent his time with. " I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you" - Fred Roger.
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going." John 14:1-4
