Ronald George Sterling

February 4, 1941 – July 30, 2025

Ronald "Ron" George Sterling, 84, of Fresno, California—born and raised in Sanger—passed away on July 30, 2025.

A graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and a veteran of the California Air National Guard, Ron built a life defined by service, integrity, and community. Ron was a career insurance professional and proprietor of Ronald G. Sterling Life Insurance in Fresno, where he advised generations of families with plainspoken care and dedication. He was deeply involved in Rotary, serving as President of the Sanger Rotary Club in 1974–1975, and remained active in civic life for decades.

Aviation and public safety were among Ron's greatest passions. He was instrumental in supporting the development of both the Fresno County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol and Helicopter Patrol programs, applying his leadership and vision to initiatives that strengthened the community.

Beyond his professional and civic commitments, Ron was a lifelong car enthusiast. He showed his classic vehicles at events all over California, earning numerous awards and building friendships wherever the road took him. Whether in the driver's seat of his RV, the cockpit of a plane, or the middle of a bustling car show, Ron embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity.

Ron is survived by his two daughters, Larre Sterling of Palo Alto, CA. and Michlynn Sterling of San Luis Obispo, CA. They will remember him for his steady guidance, wry humor, and unwavering love.
