Obituary

With sadness in our hearts, we say goodbye to our beloved Rosie. She has now joined both of her loving parents, Ysidoro Navarrete Sr. and Josephine Navarrete, to be with Jesus. Although we are left with a great loss, we must remember to cherish the memories we have and remember the essence of her, which was always pure love. Rosie embodied love in everything she did and would go to great lengths to make people feel cared for. She never wanted anyone to feel anything other than worthy and would often take on the role of the peacemaker because she truly could see the beauty in everyone and everything. She loved all little children and made a wonderful impact on so many innocent children's lives, throughout her career as a bilingual teacher's aide. She was a true woman of faith who carried a deep love and reverence for Jesus Christ, and tried to live her life by his teachings. Her home was a place of joy in which, many liked to visit. Most often, if one did go to see her, they typically received a warm hug and a full belly and sometimes if they were really lucky, they may have gotten to take home some of her delicious homemade salsa. She shared a beautiful life together with her husband of 52 years, Raul Cruz Sr, in which they spent their lives helping out at the church and spending quality time with their family and friends. Their life and marriage together was one of true love and respect. They shared a son, Raul Cruz Jr. and he was truly the light of Rosie's eyes. She made sure to give him a joyous childhood filled with love and security and as he grew into the wonderful man that she raised him to be, their bond only grew more deep. Raul Jr. is incredibly close with two young boys, named Evan and Aden Gamber who became a regular part of Rosie's life in her last years. She enjoyed attending their sporting events and spending the various holidays with them. She truly loved them as if they were her own. Rosie was also close to her only sibling Ysidoro Navarrete Jr, whom shared a love for music and it was a treat to play witness to Izzy (Ysidoro Jr.) playing the piano while Rosie would gleefully sing, Angel Baby. Rosie loved her brother deeply, as he was her only sibling and she cherished her many visits with him and his wife Cindy Navarrete whom Rosie also adored and spoke highly of. Izzy had one daughter, Lisa Henriksen, whom Rosie referred to as her, "Mija." She treated her as if she were her own, including her in many of the activities she had with her son throughout her entire childhood. Lisa would later in her adult life, have two children, Paris and Ryder Henriksen who would spend ever summer and many of the holidays with their, "Grandma Rosie." Only a few people that Rosie loved are mentioned in this brief summary of her life, however she loved a lot of people with her whole heart and she touched many lives. She was selfless and pure in everything she did and her departure is a huge loss felt by so many. We will all miss our, Angel baby, Rosie Mary Cruz.
