Rosie Valdez
May 16, 1957- August 27, 2026
Rosalinda “Rosie” Valdez (Almanza) was born on May 16, 1957, in Earth, Texas. She was a beloved wife and friend to many. She went to her eternal home on August 27, 2026, to be greeted by our Lord, her parents, Abundio Almanza, Jr. (†) and Yolanda Almanza (Falcon) (†), and many other extended relatives who preceded her.
Rosie lived a life defined by warmth, laughter, and an open heart. While our hearts are heavy with her absence, we find comfort in the vibrant memories she left behind. To know Rosie was to be invited to a table full of incredible food. Some of her dishes that became family favorites included her homemade potato and macaroni salads, brownies, German Chocolate cake, fried chicken strips, tamales, and enchiladas. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where love was always the main ingredient. When she wasn't cooking for her family, Rosie could be found watching Jeopardy!, old western shows, or a 49ers game — from the comfort of her living room.
Rosie was a woman of true passion, particularly when it came to finding hidden treasures. She enjoyed going to nearby estate sales and swap meets. She was also a legendary host of neighborhood yard sales, infamous for her love of negotiating to get a good deal. She knew the true value of things, but above all, she knew the value of love. She loved her Kitty May, a cat given to her as a birthday gift, who accompanied her and became her loyal companion for 16 years.
Her greatest joy was her family. Rosie shared a deep and beautiful bond with her devoted husband, Carlos. Together, they built a life centered on love, family gatherings, and endless support for one another. Rosie’s legacy of love lives on through her family. She is survived by her husband, Carlos; her daughter, Amy; and her sons, Brian and James. She was the proud grandmother of Austin, Dylan, Cameron, Andrea, Allie, Sandeep, Ashleen, Sophie, and Matthew. She also leaves behind her six loving siblings and their spouses: Mary (Tony), Teresita (Paul), Fernando, Juan (Paul), Diana, and Irene (Alejandro), as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews who love her greatly. Rosie's nurturing spirit extended far beyond her immediate household. Throughout her life, she was a dedicated caregiver to several extended family members whom she nurtured and cared for, including the late Uncle Kei Kurihara, Dale, Evie, Jonathan, Mark, Yolanda, Andrea, and her Godson, Nicolas.
Rosie’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Cornerstone Nursing Facility in Sanger for their care and compassion during the past few months of Rosie’s life.
Family and friends are invited to honor Rosie's life at upcoming services. Viewing services and a rosary will take place at Wallin’s Funeral Home in Sanger on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. The following day, on Friday, September 11, 2026, religious services will be held at St. Mary’s Church (on “O” Street) at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial services at Sanger Cemetery. Rosie was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
