Rufino De
Los Santos
Aug 26, 1944 — Jul 30, 2024
Sanger
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Rufino De Los Santos Sr. Surrounded in love and in the presence of family, Rufino went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. He closed his eyes here on earth and opened them in glory.
Rufino was born on August 26, 1944, to Alfonso De Los Santos and Maria Reyes De Los Santos in Weslaco Texas. He and his family migrated from state to state before finally settling down in California in the month of April 1954. On January 17, 1964, Rufino married Mary Galvan in Sanger, Ca and had three children. During the earlier part of his life, Rufino worked in field irrigation. He stayed in this line of work for 20 years. Eventually, he went on to work for Lumberjack Building Supplies until his retirement many years later.
Rufino was known for his sense of humor, talkative and kind nature, his generous heart and spirit, and stellar work ethic. He worked hard to provide for his family. He was always a great source for sound advice and wisdom. Of all the different roles Rufino stepped into, the role of dad was the one he took most to heart. In the book of Proverbs, it talks about the righteous man whose children are blessed after him (Proverbs 20:7). Psalms goes into more detail by referencing the blessed man whose children are like arrows in the hand of a warrior (Psalms 127:3-5). Rufino was all these things and more. His children were entrusted into his hands, and he was an honorable and faithful steward till the end.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Alfonso De Los Santos and Maria Reyes De Los Santos, brothers Jesus De Los Santos and Anastacio De Los Santos.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary De Los Santos, daughter, Lisa Marie De Los Santos of Clovis, son and daughter-in-law, Rufino Jr. & Trina De Los Santos of Fontana, CA, daughter and son-in-law, Jaclyn and Abraham Trader of Sanger, Ca., his two granddaughters Annie and Brianna De Los Santos of Fontana, Ca., his brother Thomas De Los Santos, and sister Rosa Villarreal both of Sanger, Ca. There are also brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. We all mourn and feel his absence but will carry his memory in our hearts forever.
The Celebration of Life service will be at The Tabernacle Sanger 1810 Swan Avenue Sanger Ca. on August 12, 2024.
