Stella
Castillo
Jan 31, 1965 — Mar 8, 2026
Sanger
It is with heavy hearts, and deep gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, that we announce the peaceful passing of Stella Castillo, a beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, sister and friend, on March 8, 2026.
Born on January 31, 1965, in the close-knit community of Fowler, California, Stella was the cherished daughter of the late Lupe and Margaret Cortez. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, who instilled in her the values of kindness, strength, and unconditional love that she carried with her throughout her life.
Stella's legacy lives on through her devoted husband of 35 years, Frank, with whom she shared a beautiful life since their marriage on May 12, 1990. Together they built a loving home and raised two wonderful children, Francisco and Teresa, whose lives reflect the love, guidance, and devotion she poured into them. Her family grew even more with the addition of her son-in-law, Wayne II, and her cherished grandchildren, Alicia and Wayne III, who brought immeasurable joy to Stella's life and whom she adored beyond words.
For over 30 years, Stella dedicated her professional life to nurturing young minds as a preschool teacher with Fresno County EOC Head Start. Her work was far more than a job it was a calling. Through her patience, warmth, and gentle spirit, she touched the lives of countless children and families, always believing deeply in the potential and goodness within every child.
Stella also shared a love for travel and adventure, often exploring new places alongside her husband Frank, her sissy Sylvia, and brother-in-law Al. Those trips were filled with laughter, stories, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Yet of all the roles she held in life, being a grandmother was the one that brought her the greatest joy. Her grandchildren, Alicia and Wayne III, were truly the light of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them and never missed a chance to shower them with love, attention, and affection.
Stella will be remembered for her unwavering loyalty, her gentle strength, and the radiant smile that could brighten any room. To her family, she was a source of comfort and unwavering love; to her friends, a steadfast and caring presence.
Though our hearts ache in her absence, we take comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind and the profound impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her love, kindness, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she cherished most.
