Mrs. Valerie “Val” Lynn Caraveo Mason of Fresno passed away Saturday August 29, 2026 in Fresno at the age of 69. Val was born June 26, 1957 in Porterville, California to Jesse and Geraldine Caraveo. In 1965 the family moved to Fresno to get a fresh start. Val attended local schools and was a graduate of Fresno High School Class of 1975. She was a member of the Fresno Gem and Mineral Society for many years, where she was very active with their trade shows at the Fresno Fair. She was a very talented jewelry designer and stain glass maker. Val had a very adventures personality and enjoyed skydiving, camping, riding her motorcycle, traveling and spending time with family and friends, especially time spent at Pismo Beach. She will be best remembered as a loving, caring daughter and beloved friend.  She will be dearly missed.

   She is survived by her Mother Geraldine Caraveo and step father Gary Wise, 2 sisters, Stacy Church and Cindy Dakavich, an aunt Ina Banta, 2 uncles Doug and Jan Banta, cousins and numerous beloved friends and relationships. She was preceded in death by her father Jesse Caraveo and companion Jeff “Red” Morales in 2024.
