Verna Mae Turpin of Fowler, California, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, at the age of 88.

Verna was born on January 17, 1938, in Fresno, California, to Lester and Edna Schwabenland. She was the eldest of three children and is survived by her siblings, Fred Schwabenland and Barbara Katanik.

Verna shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Donald Turpin. Together they built a loving family. She was a devoted mother to four children: Deborah Turpin, and Mark Turpin, and her daughter, Tasha, and son , Timothy Turpin, who preceded her in death. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Linda Turpin, six grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

For more than 35 years, Verna enjoyed a successful career as a hairstylist, serving her community and forming a great bond with her clients.

Verna found great happiness in cross-stitching, gardening, cooking, baking, fishing, and camping. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a very special place in her heart and brought her immense joy.

Verna will be remembered for her loving heart, strong work ethic, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, and that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held at Fowler Cemetery on Thursday, August 6th, 2026
