Violet Martin, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024 at the age of 90. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 17, 1933, to Eugenia and Manuel Colina, Violet will be remembered for her work ethic, impeccable housekeeping, wonderful smile and lovely garden. She dedicated her life to her family, always there with a sympathetic ear and a warm embrace.
Violet grew up in the Easton area and graduated from Washinton Union High School. She met her future husband, Alfred "Fred"Martin, when her family relocated to the Easton/Fresno area in 1942. Violet and Fred were married at St. John's Cathedral, in Fresno, California, in February 1954. Violet was a homemaker and farmer in the Fowler area for many years.
Violet was predeceased by the following family members: Her parents, Eugenia and Manuel Colina; Husband, Alfred Martin; Granddaughter, Michelle Martin; Son-in-law, Douglas MacArthur; and great-grandson, Joseph Martin. Violet is survived by her children, Michael [Darlene] Martin, Bob [Barbara] Martin, and Linda MacArthur; her brother, Michael Colina; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Michelle Martin Memorial
