It is with great sadness that we announce that Virginia Heintz, age 99, of Chowchilla, CA passed away on October 4, 2024 in Atwater, CA.

She was born on May 17, 1925 in Seligman, MO to James & Viola Bowman.  She was the oldest of 8 siblings.  The family moved to Sanger, CA in 1936.  She graduated from Sanger High School in 1942.  In 1945, she married the love of her life, Ernest Heintz, who preceded her in death in 1984.

She loved going to the coast, playing cards with family, reading and working.  She finally retired at the age of 87.

Virginia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janon and Frank Pittz; her grandchildren: Tonja, Teresa (Scott), Tammie (Todd), and Alex (Trishanna); her great-grandchildren: Grant (Enli), Mason, Abby, Bryson, James & Nina; and a great-great grandson, Logan.  Virginia is also survived by her brother, Laren (Beverly) and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Fresno Hospice staff and LLC Retirement Homes for their care and support during the last few months.
