Vivian Jane Monis-November 12, 1937 – April 14, 2023

Vivian (Tink) Monis peacefully passed from this life, surrounded by her loved ones and was welcomed into Heaven and the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 14, 2023 at her home in San Clemente, CA.  She was 85 years old and lived a life full of love, faith, family and friends.

Vivian was born to Johnny and Minnie Bass on November 12, 1937 in Edenton North Carolina.  She lived with her loving parents and two sisters for the first 21 years of her life.  In 1958, she met Tony Monis, who was from Fowler California and stationed in Edenton with The United States Marine Corp.  They were married on July 5, 1959 and in 1960 moved back to Fowler.  Tony and Vivian were married for almost 64 years and built a beautiful family.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Louise and Joyce and her in-laws, Tony and Carmen Monis.  She is survived by her husband Tony, her two children, Steve Monis and Sharon Taylor, her daughter-in-law Cheri Monis, her son-in-law, Mel Taylor. Her grandchildren: Stephanie Monis, Michael Monis, Lauren and Corey Darmanin, Matt and Jenny Gray, Scott Gray, Ally Taylor and Amanda Taylor.  Her three great grandchildren: Dylan Darmanin, Emily Darmanin and Elinor Gray along with many other family members and dear friends.

Vivian was a beautiful example of a Christian woman and her love for God and commitment to family was a model for all of us. She was selfless - always thinking of the rights and feelings of others rather than her own. She will be missed by so many, and her spirit and love for God and family will live on in all of us that knew her.
