Wallace "Wally" D. Barthuli

March 7, 1933 to October 23, 2022

Born in his grandmother's house in Sanger, Wally was the only child of Gladys Johnson and John Barthuli.  Wally graduated from Sanger High School in 1951 then served in the U.S. Navy, including two years in Honolulu where he stood colors on the USS Arizona. He attended Reedley College but left and became the first employee of Sanger Boats.  Wally started and ran several successful businesses, was a cattleman and, for the last 30 years of his life, farmed citrus.

He married Carole Mattoon in1957 and they had two daughters.  Years after a divorce, he met and married Terry Drum in 1985.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Terry; daughters: Kathryn Imani, Jennifer Berman; step-son, Greg Kinder, step-daughter, Sandy Coelho; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at the Sanger Cemetery 11 a.m. on Nov. 23.  Remembrances may be made to the Fairmont Ag Foundation, PO Box 562, Sanger, CA 93657
