It is with great sadness that we announce that Wyman Sanders Jr., age 76, passed away on October 5, 2024 . He bravely battled liver cancer for several years, and passed away peacefully at home in Santa Maria, CA. with his loving wife, Elida, by his side.

He was born on April 17, 1948 in Mississippi to Wyman & Doris Sanders.  He was the oldest of 5 siblings.

Wyman had a gift of storytelling and singing and had a beautiful voice. He would do just about anything to hear his kids laugh. His children's fondest memories are his often-humorous stories of his beloved siblings, cousins, and childhood friends, whom he stayed closely connected to throughout his life.

He would give sound advice like, "it's only on sale if it's what you want" and "take as many as you'd like… take two." He cared very deeply for his loved ones and was always ready to listen and offer sage wisdom.

Wyman was a devoted educator for many years in Sanger Unified District.  He was passionate about technology and an early advocate in bringing technology to the schools.  Although he retired from Sanger Unified when he was only 55, he resumed his career as an educator for another 10 years in Yolo, Solano and Monterey County.

He finally retired and settled in San Luis Obispo County.  He and his wife traveled throughout the western region of the country, exploring many of our national parks and the ancient Native American cultural sites. Once they discovered cruising, the left the states to explore Europe, Russia, and Istanbul.

Wyman leaves behind his children Scott (Jorge) Sanders, Jennifer (Michele) Sanders, and Kellie (Eric) Sanders.
