In Loving Memory

of

Yolanda Saldaña Alarcon

It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Yolanda Saldaña Alarcon, who departed this world on July 1st, 2026, after a sudden and brief battle with a debilitating illness. Born on December 31st, 1948 in Fresno, CA, Yolanda was a beacon of strength and compassion, whose life was a testament to dedication and love for her family, community, and faith.

Yolanda was the cherished daughter of the late Mike G. and Mary Louise Saldaña. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, sister Mary, brother Jack, nephew Raymond Jr., sister-in-law Maryhelen, and brother-in-law Raymond Sr. Her spirit and legacy continue through her surviving siblings Jess Saldaña, Helen Dieling, and Linda Saldaña, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

In 1972, Yolanda graduated from Fresno State University with a Bachelors of Science in Criminology. Her passion for justice led her to the Fresno County Public Defenders Office, where she worked as a defense investigator. Later, she transitioned to a fulfilling career as a realtor and broker serving Fresno and its neighboring communities with integrity for over 50 years.

Yolanda was not only dedicated to her career, but also to the empowerment of future generations. She served on the Advisory Board for the National Hispanic Scholarship Fund, where she championed educational opportunities for Hispanic youth.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Yolanda was an avid traveler, embracing the beauty of different cultures and landscapes. Her love for pets, Lionel and Samantha, was a testament to her nurturing spirit. Yolanda found joy in the simple pleasures of life and shared this joy generously with those around her.

Yolanda's family welcomes all who knew her to join in celebrating her life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Yolanda's memory to the American Cancer Society.
